What PageStitch is

A free extension for the whole page, as a PNG or PDF

PageStitch is a Chrome extension that captures a web page you select and exports it as a PNG or a PDF. You start a capture, it scrolls and stitches the page on your device, and you get the result in a local preview tab. There is no account, no trial, and no paid tier.

  • Capture modes. Full page, visible area, a selected area, or one element, with an optional 3 or 10 second delay for full-page and visible-area captures.
  • Scrolling panels. When the page fits the window and one scrollable area takes up at least half of it, PageStitch captures that area's full content.
  • Free editor. Crop with handles, arrows and shapes, highlight, text, emoji, blur, padding, a site and date stamp, a watermark, with undo and redo.
  • Save as PDF. One long page, A4, or US Letter, with page breaks placed between content where possible, clickable links, and page numbers on A4 and Letter.
  • Local only. No uploads, accounts, analytics, advertising, or remote code.

The full-page screenshot guide walks through a capture from start to finish.

Price

What the paid version costs, and what PageStitch gives you free

FireShot Pro costs $39.95 a year or $99.95 for a lifetime license, according to its pricing page when we checked it on October 4, 2026. Several things FireShot Pro charges for in that comparison are free in PageStitch today: capturing a scrollable area inside a page, capturing a single element, smart PDF page splitting, PDF page numbers, and blur and watermark tools in the editor.

Know before you install

What PageStitch does not do

PageStitch is deliberately narrow. If you need any of the following, it is not the right tool:

No batch capture of all tabsPageStitch captures one page at a time. Capturing every open tab or a list of URLs would need broad access to your tabs and all sites, which PageStitch does not request.

No OCR or searchable PDFThe PDF PageStitch saves is image-only, with no selectable or searchable text. Links on the page can stay clickable, but the words cannot be selected. If you need selectable text, use Chrome's own Print to PDF.

No JPGCaptures are saved as PNG or PDF. There is no JPG export.

Limited PDF page sizesOne long page, A4, or US Letter. There is no custom page size.

No cloud, sharing links, or capture historyNothing is uploaded and nothing is kept: a single-image capture is deleted as soon as the result page has rendered it.

Protected pagesChrome system pages, the Chrome Web Store, other extension pages, and non-HTTP(S) URLs cannot be captured.

Permissions

What PageStitch asks Chrome for

activeTabTemporary access to the tab only after you click the PageStitch toolbar button or press its keyboard shortcut.

scriptingInjects the packaged capture helper into the selected tab to measure, scroll, and restore the page.

offscreenA hidden extension document with a local canvas that stitches the captured screens into a PNG.

PageStitch has no broad access to all sites. In our October 4, 2026 comparison, FireShot's manifest requested storage, alarms, scripting, activeTab, nativeMessaging, and contextMenus, with tabs, downloads, and all-sites access as optional permissions. Compare the current Chrome Web Store listings yourself before choosing; the private screenshot guide and the privacy policy explain how PageStitch handles your data.

Chrome 116 or newer. Open an ordinary web page, click the toolbar button or press Alt+Shift+S, and press Enter for a full page.
