What PageStitch is
One job: the whole page, as a PNG or PDF
PageStitch is a Chrome extension that captures the full content of a web page you select and exports it as a PNG or a PDF. You start a capture, it scrolls and stitches the page on your device, and you get the result in a local preview tab.
- Full-page capture. Full-height pages and pages wider than the browser window.
- Scrolling panels. When the page fits in the window and a single scrollable area takes up at least half of it, PageStitch captures that area's full content.
- Very large pages. Results too big for one image are split into lossless, numbered PNG parts instead of being scaled down.
- Preview, download, copy. Check the capture first, then choose Download PNG or Copy image, or press Ctrl+C (⌘C on Mac).
- Keyboard shortcut. Alt+Shift+S (Option+Shift+S on macOS), changeable at
chrome://extensions/shortcuts. - Readable filenames. Downloads are named from the site, the page title, and the local date and time.
- Free editor. Crop with drag handles (resize by edges and corners, move by dragging), draw arrows and shapes, highlight, add text and emoji, blur private details, add padding around the image, stamp the site and date (local or ISO format), and add a watermark, with undo and redo. No account and no upgrade.
- Save as PDF. One long page, A4, or US Letter, with page breaks placed between content where possible, clickable links, and page numbers on A4 and Letter.
- Seven languages. English, Spanish, French, Brazilian Portuguese, German, Arabic, and Japanese.
The full-page screenshot guide walks through a capture, and the scrolling screenshot guide explains how PageStitch scrolls and restores the page.
Privacy
How PageStitch handles your data
All capture processing happens locally in Chrome on your device. PageStitch does not transmit page content, screenshots, URLs, or usage information to the developer or any third party. It has no account system, analytics, advertising, tracking, cloud storage, or remote code.
The completed PNG is temporarily stored in extension-owned storage so the local result page can display it. A single-image capture is deleted as soon as the result page has rendered it; a capture split into several PNG parts is kept while its result tab is open and deleted when you select Close or Capture another. Leftover records are deleted once they are 24 hours old, when PageStitch next starts or saves a capture. The site name and page title are kept with the local capture only to name the downloaded file and to title a PDF you save. Link addresses on the page, which can include the page's own address, are kept with the capture only to make PDF links clickable; they are deleted with the capture, are never transmitted, and end up only in a PDF you save with Clickable links on. The private screenshot guide and the privacy policy have the details.
Permissions
What PageStitch asks Chrome for
activeTabTemporary access to the tab only after you click the PageStitch toolbar button or press its keyboard shortcut, used to validate, measure, scroll, and capture the selected page.
scriptingInjects the packaged capture helper into the selected tab. The helper measures the page, controls scrolling during capture, and restores the original page state afterward.
offscreenCreates a hidden extension document containing a local canvas that stitches captured viewport images into a PNG (or numbered PNG parts for very large pages).
PageStitch does not request the clipboardWrite permission. Copy image uses Chrome's Clipboard API only after you select it.
Know before you install
What PageStitch does not do
PageStitch is deliberately narrow. If you need any of the following, it is not the right tool:
No JPGCaptures are saved as PNG or PDF. There is no JPG export.
No cloud or sharing linksThere is no account, no cloud storage, and no hosted link to share. Download the PNG or copy it, and share it however you like.
Protected pagesChrome system pages, the Chrome Web Store, other extension pages, and non-HTTP(S) URLs cannot be captured.
Changing layoutsPages that animate, load forever, change as they scroll, or use nested or custom scrolling areas may not stitch perfectly.
Choosing
Compare before you choose
Extensions change over time, so the most reliable comparison is the one you make yourself. Compare the current Chrome Web Store listings of both extensions before choosing: look at the features, the permissions each one requests, and the privacy practices each one discloses.
One difference is price. GoFullPage Premium costs $12 a year ("$1 a month") and charges for cropping, annotations, URL and date stamps, smart PDF page splitting, and, in the extension, clickable PDF links and padding. PageStitch gives you all of these for free, with no account and no trial.
The PageStitch listing on the Chrome Web Store shows its current version, permissions, and privacy disclosures.

Questions about switching
Is PageStitch made by the same developer as GoFullPage?
No. PageStitch is not affiliated with GoFullPage. It is an independent extension.
Can I keep another screenshot extension installed as well?
Yes. Chrome lets you install more than one. If two extensions use the same keyboard shortcut, change one of them at chrome://extensions/shortcuts.
Do I have to pay for crop, annotations, or PDF links?
No. Crop with handles, annotations, the date stamp, PDF page splitting, clickable PDF links, page numbers, and padding are all free in PageStitch. There is no premium tier and no account.
What does PageStitch need to get started?
Chrome 116 or newer. There is no account to create. Open an ordinary web page and click the toolbar button or press Alt+Shift+S.
